彭劍個展《常規(guī)觀相術(shù)》將于2022年6月5日在天目里游牧畫廊舉辦,策展人范白丁,空間設(shè)計舒懷。展覽呈現(xiàn)了彭劍具有代表性的系列作品,包括繪畫、裝置與影像,是對藝術(shù)家此前創(chuàng)作歷程的一次階段性回顧,也是對他當(dāng)下藝術(shù)思考的討論與展望。

觀相術(shù)通過外在形相判斷人的內(nèi)在本性,其理論依據(jù)源于自然秩序同個人生命的聯(lián)系。除了根據(jù)面容特征評估性格外,觀相在更一般的意義上,也意味著洞察事物外形下的內(nèi)部特性,透過現(xiàn)象看本質(zhì)。一直以來,彭劍的藝術(shù)中就表現(xiàn)出一種觀相式的探索路徑。他著眼于日常,以生活里的尋常之物為中介,捕捉從自然投射而來的切身體驗。借助中國傳統(tǒng)繪畫中界尺引線的手法,以及對筆墨語言的細(xì)膩體悟,彭劍試圖在對規(guī)范慣例的觀照與挑戰(zhàn)中,揭示線條色彩背后的自然秩序及形式關(guān)系。

We’re pleased to announce that Peng Jian's solo exhibition"Conventional Physiognomy”(curator: Fan Baiding, interior designer: Shu Huai) will be held at Tianmuli Pop-up Gallery on June 4, 2022. This exhibition presents Peng Jian's representative work series, including paintings, installations, and videos. It is a periodical review of the artist’s creative career with his reflections and expectations about current artistic thinking.

Physiognomy judges people's inner nature through external appearance, and its theoretical basis originates from the connection between natural order and individual life. In addition to assessing personality based on facial features, in a more general sense, physiognomy also means seeing inner characteristics through appearances, seeing the essence through phenomena. Since a long time, Peng Jian's art has shown a way of exploration in the form of observation. Focusing on the everyday, he uses ordinary things in life as the medium to capture personal experience projected from nature. With the help of the traditional Chinese painting method of using ruler to draw straight lines, together with his subtle understanding of the language of brush and ink, Peng Jian attempts to reveal natural order and relation of forms behind lines and colours, through his observation and challenge of the standard and the conventional.

彭劍

1982年出生于湖南省岳陽市。2009年畢業(yè)于中國美術(shù)學(xué)院中國畫系,獲得學(xué)士學(xué)位。2013年畢業(yè)于中國美術(shù)學(xué)院中國畫系,獲得藝術(shù)碩士學(xué)位。

他的創(chuàng)作受到中國傳統(tǒng)繪畫藝術(shù)和西方現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)的影響,早期從事以紙本為主的繪畫創(chuàng)作為主,近些年開始嘗試制作裝置、雕塑和多媒體作品。他從中國古典繪畫“界畫”中借尺引線的傳統(tǒng)經(jīng)典方式延展出自己獨特的圖像語言,并強調(diào)色彩作為營造空間的作用,拓寬了中國傳統(tǒng)藝術(shù)的視野,強調(diào)視覺圖像的純粹性,并以現(xiàn)實生活中“普通而常見的事物”為研究對象來回應(yīng)古典精神與經(jīng)驗在當(dāng)代語境方式之間的困境或障礙,試圖在歷史文化的積淀里與現(xiàn)實狀態(tài)下錯綜復(fù)雜的問題中整理出一條以本土視覺藝術(shù)為原點的新線索。

作品曾在各大美術(shù)館及機構(gòu)進行展覽,包括中國美術(shù)館、美國科羅拉多州立大學(xué)美術(shù)館、英國皇家美術(shù)學(xué)院美術(shù)館、加拿大多倫多會展中心、悉尼市政廳、香港大學(xué)美術(shù)博物館、香港海事博物館、韓國弘益大學(xué)現(xiàn)代美術(shù)館、上海美術(shù)館、浙江美術(shù)館、江蘇美術(shù)館、今日美術(shù)館、劉海粟美術(shù)館等。并多次在北京、香港、倫敦舉辦過個展。

Born in 1982 in Yueyang, Hunan Province. In 2009, he graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of the China Academy of Art with a bachelor's degree. In 2013, he graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of the China Academy of Art with a master's degree in fine arts.

His artistic creation is influenced by traditional Chinese painting as well as Western modern art. In the early days, he mainly concentrated on painting on paper. In recent years, he began to explore installations, sculptures and multimedia works. He extended his unique image language from the traditional classic method in the Chinese classical painting “Jiehua” of using ruler to draw straight lines, and emphasised the role of colour in creating space. He broadened the horizon of traditional Chinese art, emphasising the purity of visual images. Taking "ordinary and common things" in real life as research objects to respond to the dilemma or obstacle of classical spirit and experience in the contemporary contexts, Peng Jian tries to sort out a new clue based on native visual arts in the tangled web of problems of an age-old culture in the current state.

His works have been exhibited in major art museums and institutions, including the National Art Museum of China, Colorado State University-Pueblo Fine Art Gallery,,Royal College Art Gallery, Toronto Convention Hall,Sydney City Hall, The University Museum and Art Gallery of the University of Hong Kong,The Hongkong Maritime Museum ,Hongik Museum of Art,Shanghai Art Museum, Zhejiang Art Museum, Jiangsu Art Museum, Today Art Museum, He has held solo exhibitions in Beijing, Hong Kong and London for many times.
